Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park
Have breakfast at your hotel in Kampala and embark on a half day drive west through Mityana to Fort Portal via papyrus swamps and thick forests of the Nile Delta to Kibale Forest National Park simply under the Ruwenzori Mountains as you pass through verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. You will have en route stopover in Fort Portal for lunch. From there continue with your trip to Kibale Forest. Dinners and overnight will be at Kyaninga / Mountains of the Moon or Chimps Nest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park
After early morning breakfast at the lodge; you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, reputable for having the highest concentration of primates in East Africa for chimpanzee tracking. This is a half day search for chimpanzees and different primates in the forest including; phoestes, Red-Colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging on the tree branches. Your tour guide will give detailed information not only primates, as well as on all the forests’ fauna and flora, guaranteeing that your walk is informative, charming and phenomenal for viewing bird life and primates. After the tracking return back to the lodge for lunch, and towards the evening enjoy the Bigodi forest walk an activity of local community. The Bigodi swamp is known for its variety of bird species including the rare shoebill stock. You will have your dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge / Mountains of the Moon / Chimps Nest.
Day 3: Transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have breakfast at the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha Sector where you will enjoy an en-route game drive which will give a chance to see animals like the tree climbing lions for which the sector is well known for, Elephants, Buffaloes, Hyenas, Antelopes and other animals will be seen in this en-route game drive. On your arrival in the park late afternoon for lunch and relaxation at the lodge as you wait for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas / Gorilla Resort / Gorilla Mist Camp / Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Chimpanzee tracking.
Very early in the morning, your will transfer for a game drive along Kasenyi track in quest for Africa lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes among others, come back to the lodge for late breakfast and unwind as you wait for lunch. Toward the evening, enjoy for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel, where you will have a chance to see a variety of water loving animals and birds, for example, king fisher, herons, blue oraco and many more. You will additionally see animals like; hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants as they lounge along the channel banks. You will have your dinner and overnight at Kyambura Game Lodge / Ihamba Lodge/ Kingfisher Lodge.
Day 5: Game drives and Transfer to Bwindi Forest
After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a morning game drive in the national park and proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park which is most notable for the 340 mountain gorillas, half the world’s population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing for the gorilla trekking the next day. Dinner and overnight will be at Gorilla Resort / Lake Kitandara Lodge / Buhoma Community bandas.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
In the morning after breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the national park headquarters for a short briefing from the park ranger about the rules and regulations while with the gorillas in the jungle. After the briefing, you will enter the forest for a memorable gorilla trekking adventure. The gorilla trekking activity may take 2 – 6 hours depending on the movement of gorillas in their nature environment. Meet and stay with mountain gorillas for a maximum of one hour as your take photos and observe how they interact in natural habitat, then after return back to the park headquarters and after that to your Lodge for lunch and unwinding. In the evening you may enjoy a community walk in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained by their unique culture.
Day 7: Transfer to Kampala.
In the morning, you will leave this beautiful place and drive back to Kampala with stopovers for photography and lunch reaching late in the afternoon, and you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the airport for your departure flight.
